Hillary and Dan | Maryland Golf and Country Club Wedding

“Love is a temporary madness; it erupts like volcanoes and then subsides. And when it subsides you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots have so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is. Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the promulgation of eternal passion. That is just being in love, which any fool can do. Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away, and this is both an art and a fortunate accident. Those that truly love have roots that grow towards each other underground, and when all the pretty blossoms have fallen from their branches, they find that they are one tree and not two.” ~Louis de Bernieres

Today we travel to Bel Air, Maryland to Hillary and Dan’s awesomely fun and incredibly sweet wedding.  (You’ve got to love anyone whose wedding officiant starts their ceremony with, “Mawwaige!!”)  Hillary and Dan have a special place in my heart because they are such a perfect blend of yin and yang, and also because they gave me such an amazing tour of Baltimore when we made their engagement photos last fall… and they may have bribed me with food and chocolate too.  But mostly, I just love how well they fit together as a couple.  Having had a chance to spend a full day with them before their wedding and get to know them as we made their engagement pictures, it was obvious that they see themselves as a team… or maybe part of a bigger team… CAW! (did I get that right?)

And that is the story of Hillary and Dan’s amazing wedding day.  If you’d like to see a few more photos, just play the slideshow below and enjoy.

And now I want to send great big hugs and thank-yous to Hillary and Dan for being the most amazing people ever.  And if you know them, you totally agree.  Also, many thanks to all of the friends and family members who made me feel so warmly welcomed and like a part of the family.  You all kept me smiling and laughing all day, and that always makes the photos better.  And I’m also gonna throw in a little plug here for Dan and his bandmates, better known as Ashes to Embers.  They jumped onstage and played a couple of songs during the reception and totally blew the doors off the room… in the best possible way.  It was really a great day.  Thank you Hillary and Dan for having me be a part of your amazing day.
