Hawkesdene Estate Wedding | Andrews, North Carolina | Sandra and Bryan

Today I want to tell you the story of Sandra and Bryan’s beautiful destination mountain wedding in Andrews, North Carolina at Hawkesdene House, complete with tons of adorable nieces and nephews, a few happy puppies, and a cheeky pot belly pig named Wilbur who wandered through. Sandra and Bryan met in 2006 and as they worked “side by side for six years, Bryan and Sandra’s relationship transformed from colleagues to close friends playing countless games of chess on their cell phones (though Sandra doesn’t actually play chess), Bryan learning how to cook, Sandra taking trips to Long Beach and Bryan actually venturing into Brooklyn despite his initial trepidations about BK. Bryan and Sandra’s friendship eventually morphed into a loving relationship, which was further cemented when Sandra gave up the convenience of living in Brooklyn to move to Long Island to live with Bryan (though Bryan being the sweetheart that he is, told Sandra that they could move to Brooklyn together if she didn’t end up liking Long Island or the commute).”

In time, Bryan decided he would propose, but it was trickier than he planned. “It was Sunday, November 8th. and it was an unseasonably warm day for a November. The plan was to go for a walk on the beach in afternoon. When Sandra got home from her run Bryan asked her if she was going to shower before the walk. Sandra thought that was an odd question since they were headed to the beach and said no that she would shower after the walk. When they reached the beach Bryan questioned which direction they should walk and of course Sandra headed straight towards the crowd of people because there were several dogs playing on the beach. This delayed Bryan from popping the big question until they were alone. Eventually Bryan starting slowing down and Sandra turned around and saw Bryan down on one knee! Sandra said YES while realizing that the whole shower question wasn’t odd after all and that going forward should Bryan suggest something odd she should just agree, go with the flow and enjoy the journey! “

And this is the part where I say, and they lived happily ever after…
