The Big Adventure Rolls On

Cadillac

And so we’ve begun the Big Utah Adventure…  I still can’t really figure out what to call this trip.  It seems like an adventure this big should have a name, but nothing seems to stick.  (Any ideas?)

Anyhoo, we’ve made stops in Clarksdale, Mississippi (more on that later), and Oklahoma City (more on that later too), and made it all the way to New Mexico.  On the way here, we crossed off a bucket list item for me.  The photo up top is of Cadillac Ranch in Amarillo, Texas.  They do everything kinda big in Texas, and art is no exception.  It’s always really fun to visit iconic art pieces and see what it’s all about.  Often it’s a bit anticlimactic, sometimes it’s  shocking, and occasionally it can be very moving, but it’s never dull.  I love comparing my expectations to reality.  We all have so many ideas about how things should be, and we’re usually wrong… lol.  Later on, I’ll bring you more photos of this amazing artwork and tell you the rest of the story.

For now, it’s time to pack up and get on the road.  Today were headed to Santa Fe to visit the Georgia O’Keefe museum, and then tomorrow the serious photography begins in Taos.  Thanks to everyone who has helped make this trip possible.  I’m going to do my best to keep you posted, but if you really want to know what’s going on, I recommend you check out Delanie (Noelle)’s blog.  She’s lots more interesting than me anyway.
