Whitney and Austin | Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in Columbia

“Be young, be foolish, be happy” – The Tams

Today is all about Whitney and Austin.  You met them a couple of months back when we made their engagement photos at the South Carolina State House grounds in Columbia, South Carolina.  At the same time we made their engagement photos, we also spent some time making their wedding portraits at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, the location of their wedding, and right across the street from the State House.  It was really fun to see Whitney and Austin again, because as I mentioned before, they are super cool and darn funny.  In fact, there was an excellent in-depth analysis of Cartman’s exceptional ability to remake awful YouTube songs into something magical that occurred in the bride’s ready room.  (Moments like that, dear friend, is why my job is the best job ever.)  Also, the bow-tie tying assembly line was a beautiful moment.  Whitney has some mad bow tying skills.

The beauty of doing all of the wedding portraits before your wedding is that after the wedding, you get to go straight to your party.  And so Whitney and Austin were able to walk right out of the church after their wedding ceremony and lead their guests on the one block walk down the street to their reception at The Palmetto Club, where they proceeded to have the exactly perfect party to end our 2013 wedding season with.  There was a great live band, tons of dancing, and the best (artist-now-known-again-as) Prince sing-along.  It turns out that Austin is a big fan of Prince.  Told you he was cool.

And that is the fun and wonderful story of Whitney and Austin’s amazing wedding day.  Thank you Whitney and Austin for choosing to have me document your very amazing wedding day.  It was so much fun to get to know you and be a part of your story.  And I am also very grateful to your family and friends for their warmth and generosity.  You are all amazing.

And so ends our wedding season for 2013.  Thank you all for being a part of our amazing journey this year.
