Altamaha River Engagement Photos | Taylor and James

Today I’d like to introduce you to Taylor and James. These two are pretty special. If you’ve been stalking this blog for a while, you might remember that James is my cousin’s guitar playing son with an astonishingly deep and mature voice. If you’re curious, you can check out a video of James singing the classic song ‘Ole Red’. Taylor and James have been together for a while now. They are high school sweethearts, and the two of them make a great team. When James isn’t teasing Taylor, you can feel the quiet strength that flows between them, and it’s comforting to be near them. The place where we made their photos is also very special. It was a unanimous decision that we would make these photos on the banks of the Altamaha River. It’s a special place to all of us. For me, the way the sunlight streams though the pine trees in the afternoon is the first image that comes to mind when I think of home. For all of us, it’s a place where we’ve made some of our favorite memories over the years. And this particular day will always be one of my favorite memories, because not only did I get to spend a little time having fun with Taylor and James, but it’s one of the last days that we all spent with my little brother. So thank you Taylor and James for asking me to make these photos and making me come home for a few hours on a Sunday afternoon. None of us knew at the time how much it would come to mean, but clearly it was meant to be. May the two of you have many long years of love and joy and laughter together.
