Today I want to tell you about Avery and Austin’s laughter filled winter wedding in Houston at the South Main Baptist Church, and their reception at the gorgeous Cohen House on the campus of Rice University, which is Avery’s alma mater. Austin and Avery have been together for four years now. It didn’t take them long to figure out that they were a perfect fit for each other. In fact, Avery says that she knew Austin was pretty awesome after they discovered that they traveled really well together on a two week trip to Europe where they had an amazing time. We all know, traveling together is one of the greatest tests of a relationship. After a while, they were ready for the next step in their relationship. “Austin told me months ahead of time when the proposal would happen, so that I would not be stressed out about it or caught off guard. We traveled to New York City for the weekend following a tax conference there that Austin was attending. We spent the weekend wandering all around the city and eating amazing food. Austin left me several handwritten notes telling me all the things he loved about me, and we reminisced on our time together. On Saturday night, we went out to a fancy restaurant (Dovetail), where we had the most amazing pairing of a Barolo with an oxtail dish. At the end of the meal, Austin proposed and I said yes.” And that’s how we all found ourselves spending the weekend together one rainy January day in Houston. Congratulations to Avery and Austin!
